Wind Surf and Kite Launch Site:

10 minutes from our front door. Contact Peter and Christi Of Tico Wind for rental and purchase of Kite, Windsurf, Wing and Foil gear. They offer seasonal gear transport and rental December through the end of April.

Eco Thermales Hot Springs:

Lush, Tropical Gardens by flowing natural hot river big pools, water falls, bar and fun food. Enchanting

Tabacon Hot Springs:

Acres of wandering pathways through hot pools, waterfalls, Swim up bars, World Class Restaurant and Spa.

Mystic Hanging Bridges:

I recommend this 2 hour jungle walk through pristine jungle and over hanging bridges to all guests. The stunning close view of our Local Volcano from the parking lot is a perfect photo OP. It is worth it to hire one of their guides. There is so much to see and learn about in this jungle.

Horse Back Riding:

This local tour is just 15 minutes from our door. Gordo will take You on a magical sunset ride up the hillside to view two volcanoes. And two lakes. Breathtaking and unforgettable.

Kayak Lake Arenal:

Rio Celeste:

Tenoreo National Park is a two hour scenic drive Stunning view of the Volcano Tenoreo and the countryside Along the whole drive. The waters of Rio Celeste are Safire Blue. Usually about a 2 1/2 hour hike in the park.

Vientos Frescos:

Located just outside of Tilaran about 45 minutes from Monkey House. Vientos Frescos is a playful river with a natural rock slide and a huge waterfall with a luxurious pool for swimming. A wonderful day trip is often repeated more than once by guests at Monkey House.

Mountain and road biking:

Lake Arenal area offers world-class mountain and road biking. You may take a guided tour or enjoy the back gravel roads which wind through hills, and along the shores of the lake.

River Rafting the Rio Corribici:

Rio Corobici is a gentle river ride through the lush jungle where you will see Boat Billed Herrings, Rosacia Spoon Billed Herrings and a wide variety of other rare and fabulous birds along with gigantic orange Iguanas and lizards that run on water. The trip is about one hour and includes good for the entire family and older couples as well. Begins in Canas about 30 minutes from Monkey House. Best to go in the early morning.

Las Pumas Wild Life Rescue Center:

My favorite is the jaguar but none less spectacular are the spotted Margay, Jagarundi, Mountain Lions, and various other birds and animals which have been rescued and are being cared for. The walk is about 45 minutes with time to quietly watch the animals. Las Pumas is located in Canas about 30 minutes from Monkey House.

Pickleball Court:

Tennis & Pickleball Shack Gorgous, 4 court, covered and lit Pickleball Court. 12 K or 18 minutes drive from house. Open Court 9 am to 11 am daily, closed Monday.
